Why should I take the free Functional Breathing Assessment?
Your breathing is the foundation of your health and we take about 25,000 breaths a day. Every cell in your body depends on oxygen, and the way you breathe directly influences how efficiently that oxygen is delivered. Breathing affects your nervous system, heart rate, sleep quality, energy levels, concentration, posture, digestion, immune function, and even how well you cope with stress. Yet most people never think about how they breathe because it happens automatically. However, automatic does not always mean optimal, and from the age of 5 years, we can start adopting poor breathing patterns.
Modern lifestyles have changed the way many of us breathe. Stress, poor posture, lack of movement, hormonal fluctuations, excessive screen time, and disrupted sleep patterns can all lead to dysfunctional breathing habits. Over time, these habits may contribute to symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, poor sleep, headaches, brain fog, exercise intolerance, tension, and reduced resilience. Many people spend years trying to manage symptoms without ever realising that something as simple as their breathing could be part of the problem.
Functional breathing is about restoring the body’s natural, efficient breathing patterns so every system can work more effectively. When breathing improves, the body often feels calmer, more energised, and more balanced. Better breathing can support deeper sleep, improved focus, greater physical performance, better stress regulation, and enhanced overall wellbeing.
My free Breathing Assessment is designed to help you understand how you breathe and to identify whether your current breathing habits could be improved. It provides insight into patterns you may never have noticed and helps identify simple areas for improvement. Because breathing influences so many systems in the body, even small changes can create meaningful improvements in how you feel day to day, and how you perform during physical exercise.
Most people have never had their breathing assessed, so this free assessment is an opportunity to discover whether your breathing is optimal, or whether there are areas for improvement.
I offer face-to-face or online functional breathing sessions where we formulate a breathing re-training programme to make your breathing more efficient for better health.
If you are an athlete (of any level), we also look at how your breathing will be affecting your specific sports performance and build a land-based breath training protocol to teach you proper biomechanics, improve your lung capacity, strengthen your breathing muscles, improve your CO2 tolerance, and use your breath to calm the mind and stayed more focused during training or events.
