Breathe for Resilience Workshop
Learn how we can use the breath and the cold to reduce stress and improve resilience!
Service Description
This is an introductory face-to-face workshop which is suitable for anyone who is interested in building their resilience to stress and learning how to regulate their nervous system to deal better with stressful situations in life....and we all experience these! In this workshop, there will be a mix of indoor classroom sessions to learn some of the science behind efficient breathing and practising functional breathing exercises. We also look at the benefits of cold water immersion and have an introduction to an outdoor cold shower and cold dip in the garden pool. There are also numerous health benefits to breathing better as well as learning to use the breath to reduce stress. Likewise, cold water immersion teaches the body to stay calm in light of this perceived danger (the cold!), so further helps us build resilience to stress and there are many other health benefits associated with cold water immersion. Hot drinks and a snack will be provided, so please state any dietary requirements on the booking form. * We are sorry, but this course is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has serious heart or health conditions or has unregulated high blood pressure.
