Menopause Wellbeing

IMG_1866.heic

As a Menopause Wellbeing Practitioner, I want to introduce women to lifestyle activities based on science that help reduce stress/anxiety/depression, promote better sleep, boost metabolism, improve resilience, can help manage hot flushes naturally, improve cardiovascular health, and improve mood and mental health.

During the menopause transition, it is also important to allow yourself some much needed "me time", have fun, and meet and share experiences with other midlife women.

I teach women functional breathing exercises to improve their daily breathing patterns, as most of us adopt some dysfunctional breathing patterns without realising it. The hormone changes in menopause can change breathing patterns and cause breathlessness in about 20% of the population. I offer 1-2-1 functional breathing assessments to look at your current breathing patterns and explore how these may be affecting your health and menopause symptoms. See my blog on breathing and menopause.

HRT can really help manage certain menopause symptoms for many women, but it does not solve everything. Therefore, lifestyle changes or practices are just as important, whether you are taking HRT or not.

I run "Breathe through the Menopause" workshops to teach women how to regulate their nervous system, improve resilience, and manage menopausal symptoms using their breathing, heat and cold therapy and other lifestyle practices.

In July 2024, I set up "The Flushed Dippers" group to introduce peri to post menopausal women to the benefits of open water swimming and cold dipping at WeirWood Reservoir in Forest Row, East Sussex, during a lifeguarded swim session. See my Blog to read more about this.
